Scandinavian Nature and Forest Therapy Institute

The Scandinavian Nature and Forest Therapy Institute (SNFTI) was established in 2019 by Petra Ellora Cau Wetterholm. The institute has its origin in an earlier organisation, Shinrin-Yoku Sweden, founded in 2016. As Forest Bathing gradually grew in popularity, there was a need for a broader base of high quality, science based method development, professional trainings and informed support in the field of Nature Based Health Interventions. Thus the SNFTI was born, to serve as a network and collaboration platform for those interested in the field of Nature Based Health, Reciprocal Interaction and Sustainability.

The Scandinavian Nature and Forest Therapy Institute is a modern organization that invites a holistic and integrative perspective. It protects basic values for sustainability on several levels, including organizational and business matters, relational and interpersonal actions and cooperation.

The Scandinavian Nature and Forest Therapy Institute upholds the equal values, rights and welfare of those involved. This includes the living environment with whom we interact; the natural world and its inhabitants, with human beings as a part of the eco system and the web of life.

The business is based on a circular principle, with sustainable flows. Different parts cooperate in a reciprocal, continuous exchange, providing sustainability for the parties involved. This includes areas such as the personal, practical, business oriented and social interactions.

In cases where the institute advocates change and what we usually call development, it is the institute’s ambition to ensure that this is done from this holistic and reciprocal perspective.

The Scandinavian Nature and Forest Therapy Institute (SNFTI) is religiously and politically unrelated.
